LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has rejected another marijuana proposal, citing ambiguities in the text.

A summary of opinions release stated that the popular name and ballot title were requested by Don Lane would allow anyone 18 years or older to farm and produce marijuana for personal use.

The popular name “The Arkansas Cannabis Restoration Amendment” also requests permission to use medical marijuana, including those under 21 years old.

The amendment would also call for the release off all “nonviolent marijuana offenders in [Arkansas] from incarceration, probation and parole and expunging such convictions from all criminal records in [Arkansas].”

Rutledge outlined seven areas in which the text is unclear, and stated that there may be even more throughout the text.
