Most of the scattered rain has moved east of the region this week but at least minor rain chances will continue for the coming days with an increase in clouds.

As long as the humid south/southeast winds continue a limited chance for rain will be in the forecast for several days.

The best focus and forcing for rain still looks to be Monday of the upcoming week.

The upper level pattern resembles an “omega” symbol with a large high pressure in the middle and two strong low pressures on each side. This pattern is a common blocking pattern in the upper atmosphere that slow the progression of storm systems from the west to the east.

As the low moves east, the best storm chances will be across western Oklahoma, Texas, & Kansas. It won’t be until early next week until the low moves into our area.

The highest severe weather chances will also stay to the west this weekend.

Because of the southeast wind, we’ll have a steady flow of humidity in the atmosphere. This will cause mostly cloudy skies across the area with at least a minimal possibility of rain for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Any shower that develops will be brief until Monday arrives.
