FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – A night after Florida scored six runs in the fourth inning, the No. 3 ranked Gators plated five runs in the fifth to take command of the game and then took the series from Arkansas.

The Gators chased starter Keaton McKinney after two batters in the fourth and then plated seven runs in a two inning stretch as they pounded Arkansas 9-2 inside Baum Stadium.

Michael Bernal had tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run to left, his team leading eighth of the season, but Florida quickly responded.

J.J. Schwarz gave the Gators the lead with a RBI single to center then Mike Rivera provided the biggest blow as he drove in two more with a single to left.

McKinney became the first Arkansas starter to get past the fourth inning against a SEC opponent but did not record an out in the fourth.

The Razorbacks are now in a three way tie for last (Tennessee and Auburn) in the SEC standings with a 4-10 conference mark after losing their seventh straight league game.

Arkansas will try to avoid the sweep on Saturday.
