FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A suspect from a Fort Smith shooting was arrested on Friday (April 15) in a Fort Smith home.

Officers spotted Tony Martin, 47, in a home on Pryor Avenue around 4 p.m. After a brief chase and struggle with officers, Martin was taken into custody, according to a press release from the Fort Smith Police Department.

Martin was unarmed at the time of his arrest.

Martin is a suspect in an overnight shooting that happened in the 4200 block of Kinkead Avenue, at the Boardwalk Apartment complex just after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday (April 14).

Martin also has outstanding warrants for aggravated robbery, terroristic threatening, and theft for incidents on Tuesday morning (April 12), when a man reported being robbed at gunpoint in a Dallas Street apartment complex, according to the release.

Martin also has outstanding warrants for felony domestic battery and petition to revoke a suspended sentence for an incident in late March 2016.
