LOGAN COUNTY (KFSM) — A man who has been accused of trying to stalk a child online was arrested by law enforcement on Friday (April 15).

Daniel Wall, 33, had messaged a Facebook account run by Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks, which portrays a 13-year-old female, according to probable cause affidavit.

In March, Wall requested that the “girl” send more pictures of herself, and suggested meeting up with her. He also admitted that he could get in trouble because the girl was underage, the affidavit stated.

He sent the girl inappropriate pictures of himself, and then later asked that she delete them, according to the affidavit.

After arranging a place to meet Wall, Hicks organized a sting of law enforcement officers in the Ozark area, communicated by radio, the affidavit stated. Tim O’Neal, a friend of Wall, is a local constable and warned Wall that officers were looking to arrest him.

Wall made it home without being arrested that day (March 11), the affidavit stated. An arrest warrant was issued Thursday (April 14) and he was taken into custody the following day.

When asked if the constable was in trouble, after he allegedly tipped off Wall about a potential arrest, Sheriff Hicks replied that an investigation remains ongoing.

According to his Facebook page, O’Neal resigned as constable of Wittich Township on March 16.

Wall is also a former Paris and Huntington police officer, the affidavit stated.

Wall’s bond was set at $250,000, and his arraignment hearing has been scheduled for May 13.
