VAN BUREN (KFSM) - Fourteen years after Lauren Delnuovo started in gymnastics, the Van Buren native is headed to nationals this weekend.

"I'm really excited to go back because it makes me feel good that I am a good gymnast. Going to Nationals a second time is a really good opportunity."

But this trip will be far different for the Van Buren senior because this will be the the last competition of her gymnastics career.

"It's going to be very sad when once I end my last beam routine, vault routine, or whatever is my last event I know I'm going to start crying because I have done it for 14 years and it's going to be sad to leave it."

Delnuovo will not be the only one shedding tears this weekend. Her coach of 10-years will also be in Montana to coach her for one last time.

"I already cried once I'm trying no to think about it, but I'm very proud of her very happy for her and I don't know it's going to be very tearful. For her to end her career at Nationals is pretty exciting,"

Even though this will be her last competition, Lauren plans to stay at the gym she grew up in to coach the next gymnastics star.

"Once I was that little girl looking up to everybody else and now I know how they feel because they are looking up to me."

Delnuovo will be in Missoula, Montana April 28th- May 1st competing in the Level 9 Western Championships.
