FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – It came four picks later than he hoped but Hunter Henry heard his named called in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Arkansas tight end, who won the John Mackey Award in 2015, was taken with the fourth pick in the second round (35th overall) by the San Diego Chargers.

Henry finished his three year Arkansas career with 116 catches for 1,661 yards and nine touchdowns. Henry garnered national attention after his reception and lateral on a fourth-and-25 play in overtime at Ole Miss.

San Diego drafted former Arkansas defensive tackle Darius Philon in the 2015 draft.

Antonio Gates, San Diego’s starting tight end the past 13 seasons, has 844 career catches for more than 10,000 yards and 104 touchdowns.
