SPRINGFIELD, MO (KFSM) – With only 11 games left in the regular season, Arkansas was in desperate need of wins. But Missouri State was in desperate need of revenge.

In a rematch of last season’s super regional, the Bears pounded the Razorbacks in the middle innings and posted a 14-6 nonconference win Tuesday night.

Missouri State, who was intended to be the host team in the 2015 NCAA Tournament but had to travel to Fayetteville due to a scheduling conflict with their stadium, plated eight runs in the fifth inning and jumped out to a 12-0 lead before the Arkansas bats got going.

Jake Burger blasted his NCAA leading 19th home run of the season and provided a two-run triple as part of a four RBI night for the future first round pick in the MLB Draft.

Arkansas, who will host Missouri State in two weeks, fell to 26-19 with just 10 games left on the regular season schedule. The Razorbacks will likely need a major showing over the final month of the season coupled with a deep run in the SEC Tournament in order to keep their postseason streak of 14 seasons alive.
