ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A tow truck driver refused to help a woman stranded on a North Carolina interstate because she had a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker on her car.

It happened Monday in Asheville when Kenneth Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, was called to pick up a stranded woman, WLOS reported.

“Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave,” Shupe said. “And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed.”

Shupe told FOX Carolina that he couldn’t tow her car because she was “obviously a socialist” and advised her to “call the government” for a tow.

A South Carolina attorney told WHNS that the tow truck driver is not breaking any laws because political affiliation is not a protected class.

The stranded woman’s mother posted to Facebook that she thought Shupe is a bigot.

“Trump’s motto is ‘Make America Great Again,'” she said. “And this kind of divisive behavior is not going to make America great again.”

How about setting aside your completely irrelevant beliefs for one second and being a decent human being? That’s “manly.” Who he wants to be president has zero bearing on helping somebody who’s stranded on the side of the road. Unless you’re a fucking idiot, which based on your comments is the case.

I hope his house catches fire and the firemen refuse to put it out because they are Bernie supporters this punk is lower than whale shit at the bottom of the sea .

He also has the right to refuse his services to anyone for any reason. Good that he felt he needed to stand up for something he believes in. As for the woman’s mother, maybe she needs to rethink what behavior will make America great again because the way alot of people are thinking and acting, it will take the Second Coming of Jesus to make things start going right again.

So are you saying that this is what Jesus would have done? I really doubt it. People treating each other with decency is what will make America great again. You can have a different opinion then I do and I can still treat you with respect.

According to the truck driver, the lord did come. And he told the man not to help her out because she supports a Jew who wants to help out the sick and needy. You know, like Jesus.

That’s not how socialism works but your head is so far up your fucking ass that I wouldn’t expect you to understand or even make an attempt to learn about it.

      • Never go full liberal

TJ you are not fitting in with the ‘tolerant” socialist agenda very well you internet tough guy you.

Fudge, you can’t produce a single Lib that fits your stereotype, nor do you seem to know what Socialism is.
In this case an american, a man, refusing to help a fellow american who merely has a bumper sticker of a candidate on a car, is another lesson in what caused the Republican party collapsed.
This guy is a poster child of Republican Hate. You guys have created a fantasy world that doesn’t have a much truth to it. The fact that this person was in need. And this guy did it solely on her supporting a candidate shows how shallow and cowardly he is.
        Your party is in ruin.

perhaps not leaving her stranded but giving her a ride with that tow, he could give her his view of politics. She technically hired him to do a job and he let her down.

Yeah the message is “people who support Trump are childish assholes and will leave you on the side of the road because they don’t like your Bernie Sanders sticker.”

      • Mike Haring

And what was that message. That in America you are not allowed to have choices in religion or politics. That either you follow my way or stay on the highway. That individual choice is bad and America’s helping America’s regardless of their views is the way it is. And that the republican party owns God.

Who was it that convinced you GOP idiots that democrats or liberals don’t believe in god. Did you know that your own party which ‘owns god’ has systematically stopped going to church, 4000 a year have been shutting down, and the estimate that the church you shelter will ceased to exist in a generation because the young people don’t have trust in it.

So what. He had every right. This is a free country and he can do whatever he wants. Who Cares if you all think it was morally wrong. Most of the people Bitching about this mans actions are hypocrites who treat people the way you want to treat them and judge them based on YOUR own bias

    • Mike Haring

Tony, actually you don’t on most of these people, if any. You simply can’t understand their thought process so you condemn it. Sure he had a right, is that the issue. Not there was a women in need and he refused to help because of a bumper sticker. Regardless if he’s Ruinpublican party, democrate or independant his behavior is childish uninformed and his comments should be condemned by his church.
If you will do some research you will find this lady is an Army Chaplin wife who had just bought the car a few days before, with the sticker on it. She claims to be a registered republican.

  • wesm6

I have to agree, this was a lady in need. Who cares about her politics. What if it had been his mother stranded on the side of the road somewhere. This is not really the same situation as being forced to bake a cake against your religious beliefs. This is a matter of someone’s safety, who was left on the side of the road because of a bumper sticker. The tow truck driver could have used this opportunity to have done his job and be professional and polite.

God should file a defamation suit against this idiot. Can you imagine God telling him “oh, wait, she might vote for someone you don’t care for…tell her she’s a socialist then leave her stranded”. Does he think God is a 13 year old Troll?

  • truthreporter4u

Good for him. Note the stranded woman’s mother using “bigot” to describe the tow truck driver. This is typical dumb*ss liberal reaction to any disagreement.

@TJ So what your saying is that we should be nice?? HA! Thats what got us here, and now that we are standing up for what we believe in you cant stand it. You should know ALL ABOUT nice when your gay friends SUE PEOPLE for not making a STUPID WEDDING CAKE, and then get their business taken away, YOU CALL THAT NICE?? Or how about the 12 year old boy in New York streets only wearing daisy dukes and twerking to promote gay rights. YOU CALL THAT NICE TOO HUH? Or how about all the mandatory sex education in our FED ED?? Since WHEN does the FEDs get involved with what we do on a local level?? WE ARE TIRED OF YOUR DELUDED DEPRAVED MINDSET being forced on us. WE ARE TAKING A STAND TRUMP2016

How many cops do you think stop for dumbasses that have anti police propaganda on their vehicles? So the tow driver was completely within his rights. This probably wouldn’t have made the news if it weren’t posted to FB by the mother anyway.
