Shiloh Christian Wins First State Title Since 2012

The Shiloh Christian Saints win first state championship since 2012 with a 1-0 win over Ashdown.

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - The Shiloh Christian Saints defeated the Ashdown Panthers in the 4A baseball state championship 1-0 to bring home their first state title since 2012.

The game went scoreless into the 6th inning. The Saints cracked the scoreboard on a passed ball that brought Tyler Roth home from third base to score the only run of the game.

Saints pitcher Gunner Gilbert was named the game's most valuable player. Gilbert pitched a complete game giving up 6 hits, 0 walks, with 2 strikeouts.

"It's amazing," Gilbert said. "I've been wanting my whole life. It's finally come down to my senior year, and my last game. It's great to come out on a win my last game of high school."
