FORT SMITH (KFSM) - A ribbon cutting ceremony  was held on Friday (May 27) for a newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter. The grand opening took place at the Walmart on Zero Street in Fort Smith.

Many employees gathered to celebrate this accomplishment that has been three months in the making. Crews remodeled many different departments in the store.

Store Manager, Kelly Clark said the whole store was remodeled from new paint to floor tile and department changes.

The project cost a total of more than $4 million. Clark said it's important for the retail giant to improve the quality of its stores. "We try to keep our stores fresh," said Clark.

He adds, "We upgrade our stores every few years and try to make them look clean and up to date."
