ROGERS (KFSM) -- Bibliophiles in Rogers will have more options after the library opened a new book pickup kiosk.
Now, library patrons don't even have to travel to the library to pick up or drop off their books. Library members can check out a book on the Rogers Public Library website, then choose the kiosk location for pickup.
The kiosk is located inside the Rogers Activity Center.
Wendy Jones, director of RPL operations and marking, said public transportation to get to the library can be difficult. However, she hoped that people will be able to get to the activity center more easily. Additionally, Jones said the new kiosk feature will be convenient for parents who drop their kids off at the activity center, so they can also pick up their kids' books while they're there.
The library kiosk offers more flexibility, as the Rogers Activity Center is open slightly earlier than the library during weekdays. Members can stop by whenever it's most convenient for them to check out the books.
All books available for checkout can be picked up at the kiosk.
"Reading is that basic fundamental that every single person must have in order to be a successful person citizen and community person," said Jones. "So having access as easily as this is just amazing. They can go to just about any place online to check out with their account."
