Victim In Critical Condition After Springdale Stabbing, Suspect In Custody

SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — Police stated that a juvenile is in critical condition after he was stabbed by an 18-year-old man on Thursday afternoon at the 1200 block of Electric Avenue.

James Williams, of Springdale, was arrested on suspicion of first degree battery. Police stated that the juvenile received a stab wound to the torso.

A police report stated the incident occurred at the Electric Apartments. The victim had told officers that he and Williams had got into a fight, and Williams pulled out a lock blade knife, approximately 3 inches long, and stabbed him in the rib section.

Williams was taken to Northwest Regional, and had a cut on his left hand. The victim was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center, the report stated.

The suspect told police that he knew the victim before and had no previous problems with him.

The incident is under investigation.
