WEST FORK (KFSM) — The city of West Fork has asked its residents to go on water restrictions during a power outage on Thursday afternoon (June 9).

James Scanlon, the city’s public works director, said a non-injury accident at the intersection of Butterfield Avenue and Highway 71 took out a power line.

He said the outage may affect the city’s water lines, and as a precaution is asking those within the city limits to restrict their water usage.

The power line repair is expected to take “an extended period of time,” according to Scanlon.

Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) listed more than 950 customers were without power as of 5 p.m.
