BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — A new executive director is set to join the Walton Family Foundation this September.
Kyle Peterson, a managing partner and board member of leading nonprofit consulting firm FSG, was named for the new position Wednesday morning (June 15).
A press release from the Walton Family Foundation states that Peterson brings 25 years of social innovation to the organization.
“Kyle is an innovative, entrepreneurial and idea-driven executive who will lead the foundation as we continue to focus on addressing important social issues through our philanthropy,” said Carrie Walton Penner, chair of the foundation’s board of directors.
Once Peterson is on board, he will build on the work of Buddy Philpot, who served as executive director for the past 15 years. Philpot will then move into a new role with Walton Enterprises, the release states.
“This is an exciting time to join the Walton Family Foundation and an honor to lead the organization into its next chapter, building on impressive results, expert staff and new strategic plans in each program era,” Peterson said.
Peterson is the third person in the foundation’s history to hold the title of executive director.
