SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – The Springdale Police Department is investigating after an officer-involved shooting sent a man to the hospital early Sunday (June 19).

Officers responded to a home on Joye Street just after 2 a.m. for a domestic disturbance call, according to the Springdale Police Department.

When officers made their way into the house, police state that the subject of the disturbance call, Shawn Brown, 36, was holding a rifle.

After a request to drop the rifle, Brown refused, which led to Springdale Police Officer Cody Combs shooting Brown, according to Springdale Police.

Brown was taken to the hospital and treated for gunshot wounds. His condition was last reported as stable.

None of the officers involved were injured.

Officer Combs has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure, as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigates.
