ARKANSAS (KFSM) — Harps revealed their plans for nine former Walmart Express stores that they acquired earlier this month.

Four of the stores will be turned into Harps Food Stores, which will be opening later this summer, according to a Harps Food press release.

The Gravette store will be the first to reopen as a Harps on Aug. 3. Cedarville will be the last, opening on Sept. 7. The other two stores will be in Seligman and Anderson, Missouri, opening on Aug. 10 and 24, respectively. Each of these stores will also have fuel stations. However, they will not have pharmacies.

Three of the former Walmart Express stores will be put up for sale, the release states. These include the stores in Gentry, Prairie Grove and Noel, Missouri, which already have a Harps store in the works.

Harps said in the release that they plan to use some of the equipment that came with the stores that will be put up for sale.

In April, Harps purchased a vacant lot in Gentry that previously housed Marvin’s grocery store. The $3 million renovation should be completed by the store’s projected opening on Sept. 21.

Harps had renovations planned for their existing stores in Prairie Grove and Noel. Construction has been completed in the Prairie Grove Harps, and work should begin in Noel later this summer.

Harps has not revealed their plans for the final two former Walmart Express stores in Charleston and Mansfield.

About 170 employees will be needed to staff the Harps in Gravatte, Cedarville, Gentry, Seligman and Anderson. Anyone interested in applying can do so online.
