Garrett’s Blog: Scattered Rain Chances Late This Week

High pressure will be shifting south this week with our area on the northeast periphery of the high pressure ridge. This pattern is somewhat common for June and July and usually results on storm complexes from Nebraska and Kansas rolling to the southeast.

This means there are two times that are most favored for rain this week…

  1. In the early morning hours from storm complexes arriving
  2. Daily afternoon redevelopment with peak heating as storm complexes fall apart

The risk of severe thunderstorms is low but some of the storms could contain strong gusty winds,

The high will move back to the southwest by the weekend with a return to hot and humid weather sometime around July 4th.
