Roller Coaster Trapped

OKLAHOMA CITY — Emergency crews rescued eight people who were stuck on an Oklahoma City roller coaster on Wednesday afternoon (June 29).

The people got stuck when the Silver Bullet roller coaster at Frontier City got stuck around 4:30 p.m. The majority of the eight passengers were children between the ages of 7 and 15.

Crews estimated that they were stuck around 100 feet above ground.

Around 5:15 p.m., passengers were being put into safety gear and began walking down the stairs, reported KFOR.

None of the passengers were injured.

Frontier City released the following statement:

“At approximately 4:20 PM, the train on the Silver Bullet roller coaster at Frontier City stalled on the lift. Due to the position of the stalled train, the back half of the cars were able to be evacuated by park personnel. The fire department had to be called to evacuate the guests in the front cars.

Guest safety is Frontier City’s top priority. As soon as each guest has been evacuated from the Silver Bullet, a thorough investigation into the reason the ride stalled will take place.”
