WEST FORK (KFSM) –Fireworks displays across the area Friday night (July 1) kicked off this Fourth of July weekend in West Fork.

It was the sixth year of the firework show at W.E. Carter Park and thousands of people came out for it. The holiday celebration kicked off with free food, live music, pony rides and water slides. People said they were happy to have such a great event in their hometown.

“West fork does an extremely nice show with the fireworks. The whole thing is just family friendly and it’s just a great way to get your whole family together and your friends,” said Tami Sheehan.

“In previous years the kids would play all through down here and so it was cool to watch the kids play and being able to watch the exhibit and be comfortable,” said Lori Toher.

They said it was definitely the biggest year so far. The city was able to get enough donations to be able to pay for all the food and activities.
