CARROLL COUNTY (KFSM) — A University of Arkansas student drowned on Beaver Lake Monday (July 4), according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was called to an area known as the Rocks between Starkey Marina and Beaver Lake Dam around 6:30 p.m.

Witnesses said two boat anchor lines became tangled and two swimmers attempted to untangle them when one of the swimmers did not resurface, the sheriff’s office said.
