FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Beer lovers rejoice! The inaugural Bordertown Brew Fest ‘Ales for Trails’ is coming to Fort Smith Saturday (July 9).

There will be over 250 beers available to sample along with live music, various shop vendors, a Baggo tournament, a beer fun run, tasty treats from local food trucks and a home brewing competition.

This first festival is expected to draw in a huge crowd, according to organizers. The purpose of this entire festival is to raise funds for the Fort Smith trails, while providing another reason to visit the downtown area.

“There are some trails already built in Fort Smith, and what we’d like to do is to connect all of these trails,” said Griffin Hanna, Festival Director. “I think it’s important to get everything connected where they meet up to businesses and the university and connects everyone together,” Hanna added.

The event kicks off Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Harry E. Kelley Park and will wrap up around 11 p.m.

General admission is $10.  Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Park Partners, a non-profit organization supporting the continuation of trails in Fort Smith.
