FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas sophomore quarterback Rafe Peavey suffered a back injury during summer workouts and underwent surgery on Wednesday, according to a release from the school.
Peavey, who is expected to compete for the back up quarterback position, is expected to be back for the start of fall practice.
“Unfortunately Rafe suffered a minor back injury during routine summer workouts,” Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said. “He underwent successful surgery on Wednesday and is on the path to recovery so he can return to the field for fall camp. I’m confident Rafe will make a full recovery and will build on his strong spring during fall camp.”
Peavey was a four-star recruit coming out of Bolivar, Mo. High School but has not appeared in a game for the Razorbacks.
