FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The “all clear” was given at the University of Arkansas after a suspicious package turned out to be a wireless weather station shipped to the university.

The  student union on the University of Arkansas campus was evacuated Friday afternoon after a bomb-sniffing dog alerted on a suspicious package that was found in the mail room.

After the suspicious package was found, K-9 Orry was brought in to sniff out the package. He positively alerted which prompted the evacuation and investigation.

Employees and students inside the union were promptly evacuated around 2 p.m.

The Bentonville Bomb Squad is on scene to investigate the package. Police are asking people to stay away from the area until they finish their investigation.
