ROGERS (KFSM) -- People are asking for refunds after long lines at the Weezer and Panic! At The Disco concert at the Walmart AMP Sunday (July 17).

Doors to the show opened at 6 p.m. and the opening act, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, went on at 7 p.m., while the main headliners were pushed back 25 minutes to accommodate the increased security that was requested by the bands.

Cory Nelson said he and his wife arrived when gates opened and waited an hour and a half to get into the venue.

"The line was stretched all the way to Chuy's in one direction and all the way to the Embassy in the other and that was for ticket holders, lawn seats and everyone," Nelson said.

Chuy's is located about half a mile from the AMP.

"There were people in line that were there specifically to see Andrew McMahon and he played about a 30 minute set," said Ryan Aston, another concertgoer. "So they missed the entire set."

McMahon has responded to disappointed fans on Twitter, tweeting that "clearly the venue failed the fans here" and "I advocate for my fans to push for refund when venue fails to process people before showtime."

"I plan on contacting the AMP and seeing what they plan to do," Aston said. "It's one thing to have this type of issue, but to take responsibility for it is another thing."

The Walmart AMP released this statement:

"Unusually long lines last night were due to increased security procedures requested by the bands. The start times for Weezer and Panic! At the Disco were pushed back by 25 minutes to accommodate those in line to be inside the venue by the time Panic! At the Disco took the stage. Unfortunately, heightened security measures may become more common.  We apologize for any inconvenience to our patrons and Walmart AMP will continue to look at entry security precautions and procedures to best meet everyone’s demands and concerns."

Requests for additional security were made prior to Sunday's show, according to a spokesperson for the Walmart AMP.

"I'm all for ample security as long as there is ample planning," said Nelson.
