FRANKLIN COUNTY (KFSM) -- A woman was stabbed by her sister's fiance around 10 a.m. Sunday (July 24), according to Guy Huff, an investigator with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, Hou Thao is facing charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor. Three children were in the home on Tobey Road at the time of the stabbing, according to Huff.

"She was still sleeping with her baby, about three years old," Thong Vang, the victim's cousin said.

The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital by helicopter where her family said she's recovering. Huff said she was stabbed in the stomach, but he was unsure of her condition on Monday (July 25).

"She`s still alive, and she`s getting better today," Vong said.

Vong said his cousin's father called 911, but the 33-year-old suspect was nowhere to be found until Jon Swink, saw a man with no shirt on walking near his neighbor's pool, just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

"I don't know if he was in it or washing his hands," Swink said. "I mean, it was a hot day."

Swink said the man seemed disoriented and confused, and he had scratches all over his body, like he'd been walking through the woods.

"I said 'hey, why don`t we just call the cops because I`m really not for sure what`s going on,' and I said this is a good way of getting in trouble - jumping people`s fences and getting in people`s pools," Swink said.

He said the man was calm while they waited on deputies to arrive.

"Come to find out when they got here, they asked him about a bump on his head if that happened after the stabbing and he said, 'Yes it did,'" he said.
