FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- The Washington County Republicans selected Joseph Wood as their new candidate for county judge Thursday (Aug. 4).
Wood replaces Micah Neal as the republican nominee, after Neal announced he would be leaving the race because he is moving out of Washington County to run a family business.
Wood defeated state Sen. Jon Woods and former state Sen. Bill Pritchard for the nomination.
Wood, who is currently the deputy Secretary of State, said he would start campaigning immediately for the position. Wood will face Democrat Mark Kinion in the November election.
