FORT SMITH (KFSM)- Families are making their way to stores in Arkansas and Oklahoma for Tax-Free Weekend.

"I think it get you in the mood, and it gets you all excited," shopper, Peggy Storer said. "It's fun to be around everybody."

From school supplies to clothing, shoppers can purchase all their back-to-school items, tax-free.

"Everything at Walmart is usually pretty cheap, like the pencils and crayons," shopper, Kimberly Boyd said. "But, the clothes make the big difference with Tax-Free Weekend."

During Tax-Free Weekend, stores may be more crowded, but families say it's worth the savings.

"We have four kids, so it makes a difference whenever you're buying for four kids for school supplies and school clothes," Boyd said. "That difference in money makes all the world."

That difference is nearly 10% less than the normal cost with tax, and some shoppers are taking advantage of that.

"These times, economic times are tough," shopper, Aaron Emberton said. "Pay checks are getting a little tighter, so every little bit helps. Whether it's pennies, quarters, or dollars, we'll take it."
