Funeral Plans Announced For Family Members Killed In Poteau Train Collision
POTEAU (KFSM) — Funeral services for the four family members killed in a train collision on Sunday (Aug. 7) have been announced.
According to police, April Goines was driving on Dewey Avenue in Poteau when she crossed the railroad tracks and a train collided with her vehicle.
April and three of her sons died at the scene. A family spokesperson identified the boys as Jace Hardy, 17, Ruger Goines, 7, and Remington Goines, 12. One other child, Jacklynn Goines, 7, survived the crash and is at a hospital with her father.
The funeral will be Friday (Aug. 12) at 10 a.m. in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center in Poteau.
The three children who were killed were all students in the Panama School District.
