ALBACETE, SPAIN (KFSM) – Arkansas’s opening game in Spain didn’t go as well as Mike Anderson would have liked but his Razorbacks bounced back nicely less than 24 hours later.

Arkansas forced 25 turnovers and got a game high 18 points from freshman C.J. Jones as it routed Albacete Basket 96-61 to even their record midway through their Spain road trip.

Jones went 6-of-9 from the field while Dusty Hannahs added 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Six different Razorbacks scored eight points while no player logged more than 24 minutes.

The struggles from the perimeter continued, though, for Arkansas as it hit just 5-of-23 from long distance but the defensive end was the biggest difference compared to their opening loss on Tuesday. Arkansas was whistled for 26 fouls a day after being called for 32 but the Razorbacks wer able to overcome the tightly called game. Albacete Basket helped that cause as it missed 17 of their 30 free throw attempts.

The Razorbacks dominated inside as they poured in 56 points in the paint and outscored Albacete Basket 18-0 on the fast break.

Arkansas gets a few days off before it is back on the court as they’ll face the Barcelona Region All Stars on Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT.
