Scattered showers will continue to be possible on Sunday as an area of low pressure churns to our south. Rain will be light to moderate and will be intermittent during the day. The heaviest rain will fall immediately to our east. Major flooding will miss our area with the rain just to our south across south Arkansas and Louisiana.

This is the current setup with the low pressure pulling moisture up and over the front. It won’t be as heavy as south of the front.

You can see the sharp cut-off line across our viewing area. Major flooding and heavy rain will occur immediately to our east with some places in NW Benton Co struggling to get any meaningful rain. The difference is literally a few miles.

This is Saturday’s rainfall. Notice that the heaviest fell from Fort Smith and south with lesser amounts in NW Arkansas.

We’re on the NW side of the low pressure so rain is mixing with drier air and that’s cutting into rain totals locally.

Scattered rain will remain possible into Monday.
