FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Sunday (Aug. 14) afternoon, hundreds of Razorback loyal fans made their way out to the University of Arkansas for the annual RazorFest event.
The event was a one-stop-shop for everything Razorbacks for the remainder of the year.
“You get to meet some players, and talk to them,” said Damarion Newton, a 10-year-old Hogs fan who attended the event. “It is fun, and good weather to enjoy.”
Fans could bring in any item to be signed by players and coaches. The most popular sport at the event was the football team. Head Coach Brett Bielema was one of the stars signing autographs.
Many also did their best to take pictures while on the football field, some even with ‘Tusk.’
“Being on the field is a lot of it. The kids like being on the field,” said Tim Sparks, a fan. “And, [the kids] will have those pictures the rest of their life. Most of us are graduates of the University of Arkansas.”
There were inflatable games to play for the young children. Adults were seen getting helmets and posters signed by athletes.
Some families said they were planning on making the event a tradition.
“[My family]will come every year. We see them grow coming out [on the field],” Sparks said. “Because they will never be out here any other way.”
