FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)--Arkansas held its first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, with Bret Bielema hoping to have a clear backup quarterback in mind by the conclusion. That wasn't the case even after the offense ran 114 plays. But Bielema is certainly closer to making a final decision.

The fourth year head coach addressed each of Allen's three possible replacements, starting with redshirt freshman Ty Storey. " I thought Ty showed some good things today. Ty just has so many great intangibles. He understands the huddle, he understands the procedure and what we're asking him to do. I thought he's had a nice fall camp."

Sophomore Rafe Peavey has taken strides, but something is holding the Missouri native back. Bielema said, "Rafe has been able to go in the one-a-days but he can't go in the two-a-days just because his back gets a little sore. It isn't quite there yet."

True freshman Cole Kelley is the third man up for the job. "Been impressed with Cole Kelley, he's got an arm. You saw that fade, he's gonna throw that fade when he got that call in the huddle. He's doing some high school stuff that you can't do in the SEC and play consistent. But he's got a positive upside," Bielema said. The fade turned into the lone interception of the scrimmage, as Kelley was picked off by Britto Tutt.

In the scrimmage, Storey completed 5 of 5 passes including a touchdown. Peavey was 3 for 3, while Kelley was 5 of 12 with the lone interception. And while Bielema hasn't named a number two quarterback yet, the Razorbacks don't open the season for another three weeks.
