The American Heart Association is calling on people to sit less and move more.
Researchers said that most adults are sedentary for about six to eight hours a day.
That behavior could be associated with an increased risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Researchers said they can't pinpoint just how much sedentary time is bad, but they recommend Americans aim for 30 minutes of moderate to physical activity every day.
