SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A mother and her three young children were sent to the hospital on Friday (Aug. 19) after a Springdale apartment complex caught on fire, said  David Kissinger, assistant fire marshal.

Four people were sent to the hospital with smoke inhalation, a woman and three children, ages 3, 2, and 6 months, he said. Their condition is still unknown.

The fire broke out late Friday morning in Applegate Apartments in Building 42. Several Springdale units responded to control the flames.

Although the fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire, Kissinger said they believe it started with the kitchen stove in one unit.
