Restoration Studio Prepares Works For “The Botticelli Renaissance” Exhibition

FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A new school of the arts will be coming to the Fort Smith community.

Rosilee Walker Russell announced the opening of the new arts school after her resignation from her position as the executive director of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Academy of Arts on Monday (Aug. 22), according to a press release.

The Community School of the Arts will offer a variety of classes and private lessons in art, youth and children’s theater, and music.

Russell spent 26 years with UAFS, and she along with other faculty and staff members will be teaching at CSA.

There will be three town hall events where Russell will answer questions about the CSA.

The first will be next Tuesday (Aug. 30) from 4-6 p.m. in the Reynolds Cancer Support House on South M Street.

The second event will be Thursday, Sept. 8 from 4-6 p.m. in the Reynolds Cancer Support House on South M Street.

The final town hall will be Thursday, Sept. 15 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Fort Smith Public Library on Rogers Avenue.

Registration forms for classes and private lessons are available on the CSA website, and they will begin Oct. 3.
