LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — A marijuana amendment’s ballot title and popular name have been rejected again by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge.

The Arkansas Cannabis Amendment, requested by Mary Berry, was certified by Rutledge in April, but had parts of its text altered since then.

It was rejected  August 1, and again on Monday (August 22).

Rutledge cited ambiguities in the amendment as her reasoning for rejecting the proposal.

“It is my opinion…that a number of additions or changes to your ballot title are necessary in order to more fully and correctly summarize your proposal. I cannot, however, at this time, fairly or completely summarize the effect of your proposed measure to the electorate in a popular name or ballot title without the resolution of the ambiguities in the text of the measure itself.”
