MULDROW (KFSM) - There is one focal point for Terry Jones as he enters his second season as Muldrow's head coach. Defense.

The Bulldogs return nine starters back on both sides of the football but he knows the biggest question falls on the defensive side.

"We've got to play great defense," Jones said. "I think offensively we'll be pretty strong and we'll put points on the board, of course you've got to be able to stop people to have a chance to win. I tell our guys all the time offense sells tickets, defense wins championships. You can score a lot of points but if you don't stop anybody, you're not going to win."

That offense was clicking in their preseason scrimmage and quarterback Braden Gleason is ready to see it in live action.

"Our line is working really hard," Gleason said. "They've got experience under their belt now. All seniors. Receivers are running routes hard. Running backs are running really hard. We just look really pretty. We're ready to go."

One of the biggest areas for improvement for Muldrow could be consistency. The Bulldogs were able to string together consecutive wins just once as they went 5-5. On the flip side, the Bulldogs never had a losing streak of longer than one game in addition to their first win over rival Sallisaw since 1999.

Muldrow kicks off the season Friday as they host Vian.
