MADISON COUNTY (KFSM) — The family of a two-year-old boy whose body was found Wednesday (Aug. 24) after he wandered away from a home in Madison County identified him on a Go Fund Me page set up to cover his funeral expenses.
Search crews found the toddler’s body in an exposed septic tank in a field next to the family’s home near Hindsville, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The child wandered away from the home around 8 p.m. Tuesday and search crews combed the area along Highway 45 for more than 12 hours until the body was found around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the sheriff’s office, foul play does not appear to be a factor.
The Go Fund Me page identifies the toddler as Aiden Spencer Johnson and states the funds the page raises will go toward his funeral costs. As of Thursday morning, the page had raised $635 of the $5,000 goal.
