SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) - The past four years haven't exactly been smooth for Siloam Springs but it has nothing to do with the Panthers.

The school was trapped into hybrid conference that had both 7A and 6A schools, leaving the Panthers facing schools twice their size.

Now that the AAA has gone to the 6A only conferences, Bryan Ross and company are ready to take the next step and they think they're ready.

"There are still little things that we need to work on like pad level, mechanics," Siloam Springs senior James Boyd said. "Just little things but for the most part we're where we want to be."

"Physically we are where we want to be," Siloam Springs senior Luke Lampton said. "We're showing a lot of effort. It's just the mental things that we really need to focus on. Correcting all the small things because it's the small things that win football games."

After starting 3-0, the Panthers struggled as they lost six of their final seven games and were on the outside of the playoff picture.

Siloam Springs kicks off the 2016 season on Sept. 2 at Rogers.
