GREENWOOD (KFSM) -- The Sebastian County Fair continues on Thursday (Aug. 25) in the River Valley. While many kids look forward to the rides every year, there's a special group of  kids that get excited about something else.

Many children like to show off their sheep, goats, rabbits and much more during livestock competitions at the fair. These kids are competing for the top prize.

For Patricia Hudlow, showing off their animals has been passed down from sister to sister. "Before I did it my sister did for four years, so she kind of talked me into it," said Hudlow.

Kids get a couple of days off from school because of the fair, which is a perk for them. However, the experience means so much more to them. According to Hudlow, "It's something that I can put into good use and teach other people how to show next year."

Carnival rides start at 5 p.m. on Thursday, then the Mutton Bustin competition starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets at the gate are$5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under. The Sebastian County Fair wraps up on Saturday.
