FRISCO (KFSM)- Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett announced Saturday that quarterback Tony Romo suffered a broken bone in his back. Garrett would not put a timetable on Romo’s return, but he did not rule him out for their regular season opener. CBS Sports frist reported that Romo would miss up to 10 weeks.

Reports say that the injury was sustained during Tursday’s 27-17 preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Romor was seen reaching for his lower back after getting sacked from behind by defensive end Cliff Avril. Romo was held out for the rest of the game.

Romo had an MRI on Friday, and the results of the broken bone were learned later that night. Jason Garrett is adamant that the injury is not related to the surgeries Romo had in 2013.

If Romo does miss a regular season game this will be the fourth straight year that he has missed at least one game.
