FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- The River Valley Amputee Support Group held a fundraiser in Fort Smith on Saturday (Aug. 27).
The fundraiser was to raise money for those who need prosthetics, but are uninsured.
Event organizer Rodney Bartlett said the process is about $25,000 for a below the knee amputee and is more expensive if it is above the knee.
"Our vision is any kind of amputation and any kind of mobility that would fall under the criteria to help people get mobile," Bartlett said. "Arms, limbs, it doesn't matter it's all about trying to get people back to the normal of life."
Bartlett said the fundraiser would help amputees gain mobility and return to normalcy.
