Casino Amendment To Be Added To November Ballot
LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — An amendment that would allow casinos to be built in three Arkansas counties will be put to vote in the November election, after it garnered enough verified signatures to be added to the ballot.
The casino amendment will be listed on the ballot as Issue 5, according to a press release from Arkansas Wins in 2016, which proposed the ballot measure.
If Issue 5 passes, Arkansas Wins will partner with Cherokee Nation Entertainment to build a new casino, hotel and entertainment venue in Washington County.
More than 100,000 signatures were verified by the Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin’s office. The group needed just 84,859 valid signatures to get the initiative on the ballot.
