BARLING (KFSM) - Model airplanes of all shapes and sizes are being flown in Barling on Monday (Sept.5). It's all part of the annual "Kenny Roberds" Labor Day fly event which benefits the Chaffee Crossing Historic District.

The Flight Masters Model Airplane Club puts this event on every Labor Day. Each pilot is charged $20 to participate in the event.

During the fly-in, members of the club fly their radio controlled airplanes several times a week in the morning. The pilots are experts, but they also teach other folks how to fly. "We have our airplanes that we use for trainers that are made out of a type of foam," said Club Member Larry Scheer.

Raffle tickets will be sold at today's event with a chance to win some grand prizes.
