Police Investigate Shooting In Fort Smith


FORT SMITH (KFSM) –  The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Sunday, (September 4).

According to police, Derrick Clarke was shot in the left side of his stomach, around 5:15 a.m., at the Fort Smith Jazz and Blues on North 10th street in Fort Smith.

Following the incident, Clarke was taken to Sparks hospital with possible life threatening injuries. According to police, the victim was uncooperative with officers and no crime scene or witnesses were found at the time. Clarke was later transferred to a hospital in Little Rock.

Upon further investigation, a witness came forward and provided police with additional information. According to police, Clarke allegedly became involved in an argument with two men and was shot. Clarke is now listed in stable condition.

Investigators with the Fort Smith Police Department are looking for Tyrone Parks (22) and Roderick Gilyard (39).
