KNOXVILLE (KFSM) — A Johnson County man is facing a first-degree murder charge after one of two victims of a shooting died Sunday (Sept. 4), according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened Thursday (Sept. 1) around 10:30 p.m. at an address on County Road 1678 in Knoxville, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies found two men and a woman after they had been involved in an altercation, according to the sheriff’s office. One of the men and the woman had gunshot wounds.

The woman was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville with non-life threatening injuries, while the male victim, identified as Michael Bowles, was taken to UAMS in Little Rock where he died of his injuries three days later, the sheriff’s office said.

The second man, identified as Samuel Love, 33, was also taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and was taken into custody after he was released, according to the sheriff’s office.

He is now being held at the Johnson County Detention Center facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree battery and aggravated assault, the sheriff’s office said.
