FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- The Unexpected Project, an art culture initiative bringing in artists from all over the world to Fort Smith, has taken on Portugal artist Bordalo.

Bordalo is creating a metal sculpture off Garrison Avenue across from Regions Bank.

"Yesterday we took him to the junk yard," Unexpected Project coordinator Claire Kolberg said. "He walked through the aisles like he was shopping for groceries. Picking out the things he knew he needed to create the forum he's going to build."

Bordalo is creating a sculpture from auto body parts and frames. Anyone is welcome to watch the artist work. He will be sculpting through the weekend, but times vary depending on the artist.

The Unexpected is responsible for bringing in artists that have created several murals on buildings in the downtown Fort Smith area.
