FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- It’s that time of year when some of the biggest names in the fashion industry show off their creations at New York Fashion Week, which is one of the most high-profile fashion events in the country.
However, Simply Couture Boutique in Fort Smith is hosting a unique even that will bring a taste of the big apple’s fashion week to the area.
New York in the Fort is what this Saturday’s event is being called, and it caters to the entire sensory experience.
The main event is a glamorous runway fashion show with lights, high-energy music, and fashion forward outfits being worn by local models.
Several local vendors will also be setup throughout the boutique to help guests accessorize and create a unique outfit that will turn heads.
While people shop, champagne and snacks will be served as a popular, local DJ plays music for a fun and upbeat atmosphere.
“We don't do a lot of this around here. It's something that you would see in a bigger city,” said boutique owner Tammy Aldridge.
With this event, Aldridge is out to prove that you don’t have to travel out of town to find trendy clothing.
Ten percent of all sales will go to the Heart to Heart Pregnancy Support Center, which is a pro-life, non-profit that supports women with unplanned pregnancies.
It starts at 7:30 p.m. on September 10th at 305 Garrison Avenue inside the Simply Couture Boutique. Admission is free.
