SPRINGDALE (KFSM)–The Northwest Arkansas Naturals advanced in the Texas League playoffs with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Springfield Cardinals. It took 10 innings, but a sacrifice bunt from Cam Gallaher score the winning run, Ryan O’Hearn.
Starting pitcher Josh Staumont threw six innings and struck out 11 batters. The hard-throwing righty has 23 strikeouts in his last two starts.
Northwest Arkansas won its final two regular season games to clinch the North Division second half title. The Naturals won the series 3-1 over the Cardinals, and advance to the Texas League championship series for the second straight season, where they face either Midland or Corpus Christi.
